Newington
Coach: John DiPaola-Tromba (10th season)
Last Year: 10-3
Key Departures: Josh Paszczuk, Thomas Ropes, Paul Januszczyk,, Zachary Thatcher, Steven Falkner, Steven DiPaola-Tromba, Brett Cayer, and Gabriel Bautista.
Key Returners: Kurt Swenor (100 Fly), Adam Seguro (50 and 100), Viet Dau (100 Breast), Khaled Alsaqri (1M Diving), Kamil Wieczerzak (IM and 100 Back).
Outlook: The Newington Indians have graduated 15 seniors since last year’s 10-3 season, and while many of them were key-point earners, coach DiPaola-Tromba is optimistic about his team’s chances this
year.
“This year’s team has a good core,” DiPaola said. “They work hard and are starting to fill the shoes of their teammates that graduated.”
The Indians will also benefit from some new arrivals that help build depth throughout the program, including two new divers. DiPaola-Tromba is a little uncertain how his team will fare in dual meets, but remains confident his team will be
competitive.
“Overall I am optimistic that this will be a good season,” DiPaola-Tromba said. “I look forward to several state qualifiers in the 100 fly, the 100 free, the 100 breast and diving.”
