Attendance Policy

TConsistent attendance at practices and meets is essential for athlete development, team success, and safety. Being part of the track team means making a commitment not only to yourself, but also to your teammates and coaches.
Attendance Expectations
All athletes are expected to attend every scheduled practice and meet. If an athlete must miss or be late, they are required to communicate with a coach in advance whenever possible.
Excused Absences
The following will be considered excused absences when properly communicated:
  • Doctor’s appointments
  • Family or medical emergencies
  • College visits
  • School-sponsored events
Unexcused Absences
The following will be considered unexcused:
  • No communication with a coach
  • Telling a coach you will not be at practice after practice has started
  • General soreness or minor fatigue
  • Family trips or vacations
  • Other non-school-related commitments
Tardiness Policy
Athletes are expected to arrive on time. Three tardies without a pass or prior communication will count as one unexcused absence.
Unexcused Absence Consequences (3-Strike Policy)
  • First Unexcused Absence:
The athlete will meet with the coach and will not be eligible to compete at the varsity level for that week. However, they may still compete at the junior varsity (JV) level.
  • Second Unexcused Absence:
The athlete will receive a two-week suspension from all competitions (both varsity and JV).
  • Third Unexcused Absence:
The athlete will be removed from the team.
We understand that situations may arise, and we will always consider unique circumstances on a case-by-case basis. However, communication is key and expected at all times.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain a strong, committed, and respectful team environment. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.
